The Foundation for Economic Research in the Media
- promotes the research of printed media and other economic research in the media
- finances and maintains economic media research in universities and research institutes
- supports publication of the research results.
The Foundation was established in November 1989 at the media sector’s own initiative and need.
Media business research at the Turku School of Economics
The Foundation supports and develops economic research in the media at the Media Group, Corporate Research and Education, at the Turku School of Economics. The Media Group also houses the chair for Professor in Media Business, endowed by the Foundation for 2006-2010 and co-financed by the Turku School of Economics.
Grants for research in the media sector
The Foundation issues grants for researchers in the media sector. The concept of economic research in the media is given a wide interpretation in the Foundation. However, research addressing the change and development processes of the media industry is considered especially important.
The application period for the grants is open until 26 March 2010.
Funding of Foundation operations
The operation of the Foundation is based on capital income and donations. Donations for the Foundation are tax deductible for companies.
