Joining of top expertise in business and research
Strategic centres of excellence have been created in Finland by Decision of the Science and Technology Policy Council. In these centres, companies, research institutes and universities agree on joint research strategies and programmes.
Financers of research, such as the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Research (Tekes), are committed to long-term funding for the agreed programmes.
Federation involved in the creation of the centres
The Federation of the Finnish Media Industries participated in the creation of the centres for the media industry and for forestry. Coordination of the centres is organised into non-profit limited companies Tivit Oy and Forestcluster Ltd (Metsäklusteri Oy).
